- BASIC INFORMATION
Citrine is a transparent, yellow variety of Quartz, ranging in color from pale to golden yellow, honey, or almost brown. It may contain rainbow or sparkle inclusions and exhibits a vitreous luster. Much of the commercial Citrine on the market is heat-treated Amethyst or Smoky Quartz to achieve an enhanced Citrine color, usually a deeper amber or orange-reddish shade. Natural Citrine is typically a pale yellow color.
Citrine is known as the "Light Maker" and the "Merchant's Stone" or "Success Stone." It carries the power of the sun, bringing warmth, comfort, and energy. It is a premier stone of manifestation, imagination, and personal will, stimulating the chakras like spring sunlight. Citrine does not hold or accumulate negative energy; instead, it transmutes, dissipates, and grounds it, making it highly protective for the environment. It is one of only two crystals on Earth that never needs to be cleared or cleansed (the other being Kyanite).
- MAIN ORIGIN
Natural Citrine is found in Brazil, Madagascar, Russia, and the United States. Most commercial Citrine is heat-treated Amethyst.

- CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE
Citrine's name comes from the French word citron, meaning "lemon," due to its color. It has been used in jewelry by ancient civilizations, with real Citrine appearing in Greek and Roman civilizations as far back as 300 B.C. It was also featured in famous jewelry pieces like the Duchess of Windsor's flamingo brooch. Traditionally, it is believed to bring prosperity when placed in a cash register.
